I started my upper education at Reedley College in Reedley, California, in 2009. After a two-year academic hiatus to serve a full-time mission in Cordoba, Argentina, I returned to California and attended Fresno City College in Fresno, California, for two years before transferring to the University of California, Los Angeles, to finish my bachelor's degree in biochemistry. Afterward, I was hired by Jose Rodriguez to work on characterizing the interactions of the viral glycoproteins of Arenavirae, the causative agent of Latin American hemorrhagic fever, with its target transferrin receptor. I plan on using the techniques learned here to further investigate biological structure and mechanisms of protein misfolding and dysregulation.
