Maria Flores

Maria is a graduate student in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry (BMSB) at UCLA. Her main focus is the protein CPEB3, that is known to mediate memory through prion-like mechanisms. She is determining high resolution structures of amyloidogenic segments in CPEB3. Previously, she received her Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology at Indiana University Bloomington, where she worked with Prof. Yan Yu developing nanomaterials to investigate cellular functions.
